There is a huge link between hormones and acne it is recognized that one of the causes of acne is due to hormonal imbalance.
When there is a huge presence of male hormones in our blood stream, there will be excessive sebum production. This will lead to oily skin which is also one of the causes of acne.
When we are in puberty, androgens which are a type of hormones are produced by our body. This hormone tends to cause excess oil production.
This excess oil tend to clog up our pores and when our body is consist of high insulin level due to eating food that are high in sugar, acne occurs.

There are pro inflammatory and anti inflammatory hormones found in our body. Excess pro inflammatory hormones cause inflammation to occur more easily and it is the reason of why acne happens. Even though it causes acne, it is needed in our body because it is plays a part in defending our body from illness. However too much of it can lead to acne break outs.
Pro inflammatory hormones and acne are highly interlinked. Acne is a form of inflammation and if we are able to keep this hormone in check, we can drastically reduce our acne breakouts.
The answer to this solution is simply taking note of our diet. Our modern day diet which consist mainly of meat, highly processed food and food that are high in sugar are causing these hormones to wreak havoc in our body.
There are chemicals, antibiotics, preservatives, additives, bad fats and sugar in our food. These are foreign to our body and whenever it is introduced into our body, it triggers our body to release hormones to deal with them.
Some food you should avoid includes white bread, pasta, white rice, red meat, milk and dairy products. I know that these are common food that we eat everyday but they are actually doing us more harm than good. By eating them every day, you are constantly making your body going into a frenzy. Your body will start to have trouble eliminating the toxins in your body and ailments such as allergies and of course, acne, will start to show up.
It does not mean that you need to give up this food altogether. Eat in moderation and replace them with healthier alternatives. For example: replacing brown rice with white rice and soy milk or nut milk for cow's milk.
